The Tarot Reading > Tarot Card Spreads
There are many different layouts that can be used to divine a person’s cards, to see what there future will be, there are layouts that will give the tarot reader an in-depth look and layouts that will be of a faster reading, such as in the case of the person who has their cards read often by the same card reader. This regular client does not need the in-depth look into their lives each time their cards are read.
While there may be hundreds of card layouts that have been devised over the years but there are ones that have become popular with tarot readers and the person having their cards read, some of these are; the Celtic Cross, this may be one of the most common layouts for the tarot cards, the Horse Shoe is also very common in tarot reading, the Three Card Spread and the Astrological Spread.
Prior to a tarot reader laying out the tarot deck they will ask the person having the reading to concentrate on a question they would like to ask that the reading could help to answer for them.
The Celtic Cross, while one of the most common layouts it uses ten cards, with five of them in the shape of a cross and four are placed in a vertical row along side of the cross. The last or tenth card is laid horizontally on the central card of the cross and will often represent an obstacle that that person will face; this usually will have to do with the silent question that they have to ask of the cards or possibly an answer to a question they have not thought to ask of the situation that they are seeking answers for.
The Horse Shoe, another popular layout where the person having the reading can also contemplate a question to aid them in a situation uses seven cards that are either arranged in a semi-circle or a V shape. The tarot reader will read the cards from left to right; the cards represent the past, the present with the current influences and obstacles and possible expectations, or hopes and fears of the person. The last of the cards tell the reader what actions might be taken and what the out come of the situation might be for the person having their cards read.
The Astrological Spread is very popular and especially with clients of the tarot reader that follow their horoscope. This tarot reading uses twelve cards as there are twelve houses in astrology, these cards are spread in a circle with a thirteenth card that is placed in the middle of the layout. The cards as they represent the zodiac, the first placed card represents Aries, and the tarot card in this place tells the tarot reader about the personality, attitude and how the person interacts in their world affairs. Taurus is the second laid card and relates to financial, material and principals of the person. In the third position is Gemini and this card tells the tarot reader about communications, siblings, education and travel. In forth place is Cancer to represent home and family, childhood and the fatherly influence of the person being read for. Leo is the fifth tarot card laid in the circle and is for relationships, romance, relationships with children and pleasure. Virgo in the sixth placement is to represent work and responsibility, health and the care of others. Libra is placed in the seventh setting of the layout and this card holds answers to marriage, alliances and partnerships along with work relationships. The eight-card placement is Scorpio, which tells of the lifecycle, hidden influences and sexuality. The ninth card in this spread is Sagittarius and what this card tell the tarot reader is about religion, law, and travel. Capricorn in the tenth placement is to tell of career, ambitions, achievements, status and self-esteem. Aquarius takes the eleventh placement to signify hopes and wishes, and tell of acquaintances. Piscesis the twelfth and final card in the circle and it tells of the strengths and weaknesses, and of the subconscious.
These are just a sample of the layouts of tarot cards, and depending on what the person having the reading is interested in makes a difference what lay out will be used by the tarot reader, if the person is after a reading to tell of the future these tarot readings would be right for them, however if the only interest they have in a reading is for their love life, then these while they would show the tarot reader this to some degree there are layouts that would be more effective such as one named the Celtic Heart Spread, this layout has cards laid out for the male, the female, and the relationship. There are many other layouts for love and which spread is used is will depend largely one the tarot reader and what layouts they use for their readings and while there are different layouts. The end benefit is how accurate the tarot reader actually is, if the tarot reader understands the cards and can give the person a reading that may help guide them to making decisions that are right in their lives.
Love is not the only type of tarot card lay out there is, there are lay outs for everyday life, there are ones for health and spirit and there are ones for the past and past lives. There are also card layouts for holidays, and ones that are for a certain amount of time there are even tarot card layouts for pets and let us not forget one for the birthday and for dreams.
Some of the more simple tarot card layouts that are used often by card readers that want answers to questions daily or for different situations of their own are a three, five or seven card spread. These three cards can be used in various ways to give guidance, such as the first card is the person with their thought on the matter, the second card is the problem and the third tarot card one of guidance or the out come of the problem.
This three card tarot layout can also be used for a couple, the first tarot card being the woman, the second being the man and the third tarot card being the out come of the relationship, or a card to guide the couple in a problem they are having in their relationship. So while this is a rather simple tarot card layout, it can also have a great wealth of information to the tarot reader, and as all tarot readings are for guidance and not a way of telling the imminent outcome of a person’s life these three tarot cards can help guide the believer in a certain direction.
The tarot five card spread is a little more involved and can give a little information to the reader of the tarot cards, each card represents certain parts of a problem or whatever the five tarot card reading might be read for, the cards are laid out with the first meaning the past, the second card is for the recent past and the third is for the present. The fourth card in this spread is for the close future events and the final or fifth card in this layout are for the future or possible out come of the reason the tarot cards were read.
