The Tarot Reading > A Little About The Tarot Deck
While there are many decks of tarot cards, they each have cards that have meanings in order to divine the future, one of these decks in called the Rider-Waite –Smith deck that was first published in 1910 and became very popular. In this deck some of the cards of the twenty-two Major Arcana are: the Fool, The Magician, the High Priestess, the Empress, the Emperor, the Pope and the lovers. These are just the first, there is also the Chariot, Justice, the Hermit, the Wheel of Fortune, Strength, the Hanged Man, Death, Temperance, the Devil, the Tower, the Star, the Moon, the Sun, Judgment and the World.
While some of these may make the uneducated tarot card reader shutter by name the name of the card death, does not necessarily mean death for the person having their cards read nor for one they know but it can mean death of a situation in their lives. It can be the end of a bad situation, such as a relationship that is not going well or a job that is not up to the person’s skill level or that they are unappreciated.
The meaning of these cards can be changed depending how they appear in a reading, they can be right side up or upside down, also where they place in the layout of the cards can make a difference in the meaning of the cards for the person having the reading. If the card for instance is the Lovers, and appears upside down, it may mean there will be a parting in a relationship; where should it appear right side up it might mean that there is continued happiness in a relationship.
